CANNON IV, INC., AWARDED TWO-YEAR INDIANA UNIVERSITY CONTRACT FOR PRINTERS, SERVICE AND SUPPLIES

Indianapolis Company Beats Out National Companies

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- Cannon IV, Inc. has recently entered an exclusive two-year volume purchase agreement with Indiana University, making the Indianapolis-based distributor of printers, service and supplies the primary supplier of Hewlett-Packard printers and warranty service for the school's statewide system. This agreement covers the eight Indiana University campuses. The contract volume is anticipated to be 700 laser printers, 300 inkjet printers and 75 scanjet products based on historical volume.

Cannon IV was awarded the contract, beating out eight local and national companies. According to Cannon IV Vice President of Sales Jeff Jones, the university was seeking a proposal that offered both flexibility and creativity when it came to serving the school's technology needs. Jones explained that Cannon IV's ability to provide both was a key factor in winning the bid.

"Indiana University has been a major customer of Cannon IV for printer supply products and with this contract the relationship has been expanded to include Hewlett-Packard printers and printer services," Jones said. "Indiana University recognized our extensive customer support capabilities and innovation in B2B e-commerce transaction processing."

Indiana University Purchasing Contract Manager Jill Schunk said that in addition to Cannon IV's service and support offerings, its ability to provide the necessary e-commerce was an important factor as well.

"Our current engagement with Cannon IV in the e-commerce arena is crucial," she explained. "The convenience of having a single source of contact for technology sales and service was equally attractive."

The contract is Cannon IV's first multi-year printer equipment contract with Indiana University, Jones said. While the formal agreement is slated to end in 2005, there is the possibility it could be extended until 2008, resulting in a five-year term.

Cannon IV, Inc., founded in 1974, is headquartered in Indianapolis and is a leading independent provider of printer solutions, services and supplies to schools, government and businesses in the United States.
